Wednesday Night Live: Food, Fun & Fellowship Each Wednesday the evening's activities begin with a meal served between 5:30-6:15 p.m.. This meal is served and provided by the church and a voluntary free-will offering is accepted to help off-set the costs. Dinner is followed by a period of study from 6:15-8:00 p.m. The classes offered are described below. Classes Starting April 2008 Free Fellowship Meal at 5:30 p.m. Top 10 List for Christians-- This book offers a "contemporary" Top Ten list of important things for Christians to remember as we make our way through life's journey. Acknowledging that we all need guideposts to help us along the way, Moore offers ten witty and wise reminders of the real priorities in life - God's priorities for faithful living. These uplifting reminders - along with a number of warm, inspirational stories and anecdotes - will encourage you to live each day with faith, hope, love, joy, trust and commitment, so that you may live purposefully and in celebration, trusting in God's faithfulness. Taught by Cheryl Wood, May 21- June 25. Class limit 10 The DNA of Relationships--"Life is relationships; the rest is just details." We are made for three great relationships--with God, others, and ourselves--and all relationships involve choice. This study will revolutionize your marriage, family, friendships, and work relationships. Led by Christie Dillon. Begins April 9. Class limit 10 Conversations With Your Child – Ever wonder how to talk to your children? Ever feel like you’re talking different languages? Join this class and learn to communicate with your child in this study of “Conversations With Your Child”. This class will lead good parents to being great parents. Come as a couple or come alone. Join Nate & Lisa O’Donnell in this six-week class beginning April 9. Class limit 10. Fruit of the Spirit – Join Mark Prugh as he leads us through defining and finding the Fruit of the Spirit and how to develop what God has given us and how we can use that in His service. 6 week class begins April 9. Class limit 10. Real Followers --“Will you give up your right to yourself, take up the cross, and radically follows Jesus?” This course, designed to dig deep into those who are comfortable in their faith, will spur Christ’s followers into a great and deep transformation. Do you have the desire and personal strength to open yourself up for all that Christ needs you to be? Pastor Londia teaches this class. It will only be offered once this year, so mark these dates on your calendar and sign up soon! May 21 - July 2. Class limit: 20Living the Good Life Together: Attentiveness --Are you too busy for God? It sounds sacrilegious, but that’s how many of us feel. This study helps us examine our busy lives and learn how to be present with ourselves, with each other, and with God. Taught by Dawn O’Neal. 12 week class begins April 9 Class limit: 10 Living the Good Life Together: Forgiveness--Why is it so hard to forgive? Christians talk a lot about forgiveness, but our actions don’t always measure up to our words. This study helps us face that question honestly and, together, work toward embodying God’s gracious forgiveness of us. Taught by Viviane Wadleigh. Class runs April 9 – June 25 (12 weeks). Class limit: 10 Disciple Short Study: Invitation to the New Testament--Explore the writings of the New Testament using the story of Jesus as the starting point. This survey of the testament looks at how the early church took ownership of and was shaped by the story of Jesus and how the church learned how to develop as disciples and create communities of faith. Class runs April 9 – June 11 (10 weeks). Class limit 10 First Place (Exercise and Bible Study)-- The journey to health and wholeness begins as we read and hear God's word, and then make it part of our daily lives so that we can experience the victory over sin that Jesus guarantees all those who love Him and keep His commandments. Led by Kasha Oetinger. April 9 – June 11 (12 weeks). Class limit 15 Beginnings: An Introduction to Christianity—Invite others to ask questions about the Christian faith, explore their walk with God, and form or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and Christian community. Sessions explore the most fundamental questions of religion: So Is This All There Is? Who is Jesus and Why Should I Care? Why Am I Not Where I Want to Be? How Does God Speak to Me? If I Don't Feel Lost, Why Do I Need to Be Found? Can I Start Again? Taught by Armand & Jeannie Lienard. April 9 – June 11. Invite a friend! Class limit 15 Christianity and World Religions --Communities today are an exciting mix of culture and religion that is often different from what we're used to. Understand the differences and diversity in the world. The six sessions look openly and honestly at Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity and the essential beliefs of Christianity with respect to the other religions studied. Led by Bruce Wood. April 9 – May 14. Class limit 10 |
