Reverend Londia Granger Wright (Pastor Londia), our Senior Pastor, came to us from St Luke's UMC, in Kansas City, and delivered her first sermon at Waynesville UMC on 26 June 2005.

Pastor Londia was born and raised in St Louis and attended public schools. She was one of six children in her family. After graduating from high school she joined the U.S. Navy. While there she first went through Basic Training at Orlando, FL. Pastor Londia was then stationed at the Naval Communications Station-Guam where she served as a Chaplain's Assistant. From there, Pastor Londia proceeded to the Naval Air Station on Bermuda where she served as a journalist.

Meet Our Pastors
Reverend Londia Granger Wright (Pastor Londia), our Senior Pastor, came to us from St Luke's UMC, in Kansas City, and delivered her first sermon at Waynesville UMC on 26 June 2005. Pastor Londia was born and raised in St Louis and attended public schools. She was one of six children in her family. After graduating from high school she joined the U.S. Navy. While there she first went through Basic Training at Orlando, FL. Pastor Londia was then stationed at the Naval Communications Station-Guam where she served as a Chaplain's Assistant. From there, Pastor Londia proceeded to the Naval Air Station on Bermuda where she served as a journalist.
Upon completing her 4 year tour in the Navy, and earning an Honorable Discharge, Pastor Londia returned to St Louis and was admitted to St Louis University (SLU) where she earned a degree in Communication. She then stayed on as an employee/student, working in the school's public relations office, and spent the next 5 years earning her Masters degree in English. Throughout her public relations career she worked for 2 school districts, a newspaper, the Disciples of Christ publishing house, and a public relations agency. Pastor Londia attended the St. Paul School of Theology and was awarded her Master of Divinity degree in 2002. Pastor Londia was initially appointed a part-time student local pastor at St. Luke's UMC and maintained that position while working towards her Divinity degree. After graduation she was appointed a full-time associate pastor in 2002.

Reverend William O'Neal (Pastor Bill) and his family came to Waynesville United Methodist Church on July 1, 2007. He is serving an appointment as our Associate Pastor. Born in Missouri, Bill has always been a United Methodist. Actually, he was only a Methodist from his birth until he was three in 1968, “That’s when we became United Methodist,” he says. Bill grew up in Kirkwood, MO and worked as a cook in one of the best Italian restaurants in the Saint Louis area while in high school. He served in the United States Air Force during the first Gulf War. He holds a BS in Business Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Wilmington College in Delaware. He also holds an associate in Maintenance Production Management from the Community College of the Air Force. Bill graduated from Saint Paul School of Theology in January of 2007 with a Masters in Divinity.
Prior to going into the ministry, Bill worked in sales and marketing. He owned a small farm down in Ava, MO where he raised horse, chickens, peacocks, rabbits and other animals that you can’t really do much with. He sold the farm along with the animals so that he could begin Seminary up in Kansas City. While in Seminary, Bill was the associate pastor at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church from 2004-2007. Waynesville UMC is his second appointment since first starting the ministry. He is married to the very beautiful, fun and gracious Dawn O’Neal. They have three kids – Grace age 2, Ashley age 15, and Jonathan age 13. Bill’s hobbies have been working out, fishing, hunting, horse back riding and reading. It’s a good thing that reading is one of his hobbies because that’s all he had time for up in Pleasant Hill, what with attending Seminary full-time, holding a ¾ appointment (which means working full-time but showing 30 hours on paper) as associate pastor and having a family. Bill loves the ministry and is looking forward to immersing himself within the community.
